Cheryl Richards: The Lamp

My purpose in creating this blog is to challenge myself in different ways using digital photography as my foundation. I not only want to hone my skills as a photographer, but also stretch my design skills and my writing skills.

I use a Nikon Coolpix 4300 which does allow some manual settings. I know, definitely out-dated, but right now this is what I have to work with. Besides, some great photographers have taken fantastic shots using point-and-shoot cameras.

Here are the manual settings I used for this shot.

F-stop - f/2.8
ISO: 100
Focal length: 8.0mm
No flash
Metering mode: center weighted average.

I like this photo because it has warmth and a bit of mystery. I know I have much to learn. With practice I will get better.
