My Time Muse

Meet my Time Muse. She is about two inches tall and made from watch pieces, a house key, a pendant, curled fringe and gold ribbon. This is an example of assemblage art. Assemblage is an artistic process. In the visual arts, it consists of making three-dimensional or two-dimensional artistic compositions by putting together found objects. And this is one of my favorite mediums to play in.

I made my little Time Muse when I worked for Marney Makridakis, founder of Artella. Marney founded Artella as a community for creatives to share their ideas, writing and art online and has evolved into a multimedia corporation offering paid online memberships, a free newsletter, an online store of digital images to download, e-courses to jack up your creativity and a life coaching training program called ARTbundance Certificate Training

Last year Marney published her first book "Creating Time-Using Creativity to Reinvent the Clock and Reclaim Your Life" a time management approach for creatives. As she was putting together her book she put out a call to all artists within her creative circles to create pieces of art according to the directions of a variety of her ARTsignments exploring the subject of time. Most of the ARTsignments were developed from her e-course From Here to ARTernity. An ARTsignment is a trademark of Artella Creative Multimedia. Marney defines it as "an art project designed to activate and expand self-awareness and transformation. Each ARTsignment combines a step-by-step introspective process; interactive journal questions; and a unique, hands-on art project."

And thus my Time Muse was born. You can find her on page 42 of "Creating Time-Using Creativity to Reinvent the Clock and Reclaim Your Life"
